Menus
In the Finance App you can access functionality by using CALC and VARS menu items. If you want syntax help, press the toggle key ^ when it is shown. To make a menu selection, use the menu keys and enter, alternatively you can use the number associated with the item.
Using the TVM Solver
When using the financial functions, you must enter cash inflows (cash received) as positive numbers and cash outflows (cash paid) as negative numbers. The TI-84 Evo follows this convention when computing and displaying answers.
1. To use the TVM solver, select the Finance icon
from the home screen.
2. Choose option 1: TVM Solver.
3. Enter your known values into the variables — N (number of periods), I% (annual interest rate), PV (present value), PMT (payment), FV (future value), and P/Y & C/Y (payments and compounding periods per year) — using positive values for cash inflows and negative for outflows.
4. Once all known values are entered, move your cursor to the unknown variable and select SOLVE by pressing the h key to calculate the result.
