Vernier EasyData™ App - Introduction To
What is the Vernier EasyData App
The Vernier EasyData App is a graphing calculator application. It lets you collect, view, and analyze real-world data. The Vernier EasyData App supports the use of Vernier Go Direct® Motion, Go Direct Temperature, Go Direct pH, Go Direct Gas Pressure, and CBR 2™ Motion Detector, only through a USB cable.

Vernier EasyData App Features
Using the EasyData App
The EasyData App from Vernier® Science Education enables single-sensor data collection. The EasyData App auto-launches data collection when you connect supported Vernier sensors to the USB-C port on the graphing calculator. Built-in analysis for supported Vernier sensors are available. The EasyData App supports data collection with the CBR 2 Motion Detector, and certain Vernier Go Direct sensors.
Connecting a supported Go Direct Vernier Probe via USB
When the calculator detects a data collection device connected to the USB port, the EasyData App opens automatically and starts a default experiment appropriate for that device.
Time Graph
Graphing temperature with Vernier Go Direct Temperature sensor
You can connect the Go Direct USB temperature sensor to a TI-84 Evo calculator and use the EasyData App to watch the effect of holding the sensor in your hand. This exercise uses the Time Graph mode to collect samples automatically at regular time intervals.
1. Turn the TI-84 Evo calculator on using *, to display the Home Screen.
2. Select the EasyData App icon
from the Home Screen.
3. Connect the Temperature sensor to the calculator. The EasyData App will automatically launch. After pressing any key, the screen shows the current EasyData App mode and the current sensor reading.
4. Select START to start collecting data, and then wait five seconds.
5. Hold the Temperature sensor for about 30 seconds. The graph shows the temperature as it changes.
6. Select STOP to stop collecting data. The EasyData App displays a scaled graph of the sampled temperatures.
7. Press the right arrow key › repeatedly to scroll the cursor to the right and note the temperature at each data point.
8. When you finish exploring the graph, select MAIN to return to the EasyData App main screen.
9. Select QUIT.
A message indicates that the collected data has been stored in calculator lists.10. Select OK to quit the EasyData App.
