TI Connect™ Evo App Features

TI Connect™ Evo is a web-based app that provides connectivity between a computer and a TI-84 Evo graphing calculator. It allows you to capture the calculator screen, transfer files to and from the calculator, and update the OS on the calculator.

System requirements

  • Active internet connection
  • Web USB enabled
  • Access to shared memory, files, and clipboard

To get started and explore the different pages of the app, see the examples below.

Getting started

1.    Open a compatible browser.
You can also connect your TI-84 Evo calculator, click the TI-84 Evo detected pop-up message, then skip to Step 4. 

2.    Enter connectevo.ti.com into the address bar.
If prompted, click Agree and Proceed to accept cookies, and then click the ACCEPT button to agree with the TI terms and conditions.
A compatibility check will be performed while the app loads. If any issues are found, a page will display with information on what needs to be addressed.

3.    After the Let's Get Started page loads, connect your TI-84 Evo calculator to your computer.
Note: If your computer only has a USB-C port, you will need a USB-C to USB-C cable to connect your calculator.

4.   Click CONNECT TO CALCULATOR.

5.   On the popup window, click the name of your calculator and then click Connect.
The home page will open, displaying the four available options: Capture Screen, Send Files, Install OS, Exit Test Mode.

Navigating on the app

There are two ways to navigate on the TI Connect™ Evo app after connecting your calculator:

  • TI Connect™ Evo logo on the top left of each page which links to the home page
  • Links to each function on the top right of each page except the home and Let's Get Started pages

Note: If your calculator is disconnected and then reconnected (or you connect another calculator), you will be redirected to the Let's Get Started page.

Capturing the calculator screen

1.    Navigate to the CAPTURE SCREEN page.

2.    Click the CAPTURE SCREEN button.
The current calculator screen will display.

Note: To capture another screen, make the necessary changes on the calculator and click the CAPTURE SCREEN button again.

3.    Click one of the following buttons:

  Copies the current screen to the computer clipboard and use the image in other apps.

  Saves the current screen to your computer Downloads folder.

Sending files to or from the calculator

1.    Navigate to the SEND FILES page.

  • To send files from your computer to your calculator, click SEND TO CALCULATOR.
    This will open the file explorer where you can select the files from your computer to send to the calculator.
  • To send files from your calculator to the computer, select the file(s) you want to send or use the check box to Select All and then click SEND TO COMPUTER.

 

Installing or updating the OS

To update your TI-84 Evo graphing calculator follow the steps below:

1.    Connect the TI-84 Evo to your computer with a compatible usb-c cable.

2.    When prompted click the TI-84 Evo detected pop-up message. Alternatively, navigate to connectevo.ti.com.

3.    If your calculator is out of date, you will be taken directly to the update page. Select Update OS and follow the on screen prompts to install the latest operating system to your TI-84 Evo graphing calculator.

Reinstall OS

If your calculator is up-to-date, and you would like to Reinstall the operating system, follow the steps below:

1.    Connect the TI-84 Evo to your computer with a compatible usb-c cable.

2.    When prompted click the TI-84 Evo detected pop-up message. Alternatively, navigate to connectevo.ti.com.

3.    Select the REINSTALL OS and follow the on screen prompts to reinstall the latest operating system to your TI-84 Evo graphing calculator.

Note: Reinstall OS will transfer the latest OS, apps, default files and images to your calculator.

Exiting Test Mode

1.    Navigate to the EXIT TEST MODE page.

2.    Click the EXIT TEST MODE button.
A confirmation message will appear.

Auto-screen Capture

In TI-Connect Evo, Auto-Refresh enables teachers and students to project and present actions on a connected TI-84 Evo in near real time, automatically refreshing the display.

Share your screen

1.    Navigate to the Capture Screen page.

2.    Select the Auto-Refresh toggle.

3.    When Auto-Refresh is active, the content on the calculator screen is captured and displayed automatically every ~0.5s and the download and copy options are disabled.

4.    Select the Auto-Refresh toggle again to stop capturing the calculator screen.
