Functions and Graphs - Understanding the Factor and Remainder Theorem

It is much easier and more intuitive to understand the factor and remainder theorem when you start with simple division of whole numbers. The concepts are very similar. It is not magical or coincidental that when f(x) is divided by (x - a) the remainder is given by f(a), it's actually logical. Think about when 42 is divided by 8. We get and answer of 5 and 2 remainder. The remainder actually tells us that we are 2 units away from a multiple of 8. Apply this logic to polynomials.
