Recreational mathematics involves topics such as curious and interesting sequences, magic squares, mathematical chess problems, mathematical magic tricks, Pythagorean triples, puzzles and origami. At the start of the session, participants will do a gallery walk and visit different stations where they will explore some of these topics. After the walk, Ron Lancaster and Ken Collins will demonstrate how TI technology and coding can be used as a tool for delving deeper into these topics and promoting curiosity. Join us to learn more about how recreational mathematics fosters a lifelong interest in mathematics, a sense of joy and wonder for mathematics, and a desire to play, tinker and imagine.
