How do I make a scatter plot?
The following example will demonstrate how to enter statistical data and graph a scatter plot.
Data for this example:
L1: {7,2,4,2,5}
L2: {8,4,6,2,7}
To input data into the Stat List Editor:
Enter the data into L1 and L2.
Graph the scatter plot:
- Press a then c to access the STAT PLOT editor.
- Press 1 to edit Plot1.
- Press = to turn on ON Plot1.
- Press the down arrow key ≥, then press = to select the scatter plot graph type.
- Press the down arrow key ≥ then press a, and then press Õ to set XLIST.
- Press the down arrow key ≥ then press a, and then press Ö to set YLIST.
Note: On the Stat Plot screen, you also have the option to change the color of the plot by highlighting the color and press the right arrow key › or press the left arrow key ‹ until the desired color appears on the screen. - Set the viewing window by pressing d and adjusting the values to display the scatterplot. Alternatively, press f9 to select ZoomStat to automatically scale the axes to display the scatter plot.
