How do I make a scatter plot?

The following example will demonstrate how to enter statistical data and graph a scatter plot.

Data for this example:

L1: {7,2,4,2,5}

L2: {8,4,6,2,7}

To input data into the Stat List Editor:

Enter the data into L1 and L2.

Graph the scatter plot:

  1. Press a then c to access the STAT PLOT editor.
  2. Press 1 to edit Plot1.
  3. Press = to turn on ON Plot1.
  4. Press the down arrow key , then press = to select the scatter plot graph type.
  5. Press the down arrow key then press a, and then press Õ to set XLIST.
  6. Press the down arrow key then press a, and then press Ö to set YLIST.
    Note: On the Stat Plot screen, you also have the option to change the color of the plot by highlighting the color and press the right arrow key or press the left arrow key until the desired color appears on the screen.
  7. Set the viewing window by pressing and adjusting the values to display the scatterplot. Alternatively, press f9 to select ZoomStat to automatically scale the axes to display the scatter plot.
