Designed for middle grades educators who need support transitioning to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) Mathematical Process Standards, this workshop introduces the standards in the context of the eighth-grade mathmatics classroom, along with essential technology skills for the TI-84 Plus family of graphing calculators. The workshop emphasizes building pedagogical skills for leading discussions and engaging students in TEKS Mathematical Process Standards.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll be comfortable using the TI-84 Plus graphing calculator and TI-SmartView™ emulator software to deepen student understanding of important TEKS topics in pre-algebra and algebra for sixth, seventh and eighth grades.
Overview
This in-person workshop is available in one-, two- and three-day options to accommodate educator-specific needs. A half-day workshop option is also available. The two- and three-day workshops offer a more extensive exploration of topics. A virtual workshop is also available in multiple two- or three-hour sessions.

Areas of Focus
This workshop addresses TEKS content standards in middle grades mathematics, with a focus on algebra in eighth grade.
