Learning to Code with Python Using the TI-Nspire™ Series and TI-Innovator™ Technology

  • TI-Nspire™ CX II graphing calculator plus TI-Nspire™ CX Premium Teacher Software (4 years)
  • TI-Nspire™ CX II CAS graphing calculator plus TI-Nspire™ CX Premium Teacher Software (4 years)

Workshop overview

This workshop introduces the basics of Python coding principles including logic, selection statements and loops. Participants will expand their knowledge by using both the TI-Innovator™ Hub and TI‑Innovator™ Rover to further engage students in coding and STEM applications and enhance learning.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be familiar with:

  • Starting a new program, writing a program to display text, and running the program.
  • Understanding the differences between global and local variables, and using them in a program.
  • Writing programs that control input and output commands on the Hub.
  • Writing input statements using IF and conditions.
  • Using loop structures.

What to expect from your virtual workshop experience

  • Hands-on, interactive professional learning held in 3-hour time blocks.
  • You will receive the workshop training materials and online calculator license via email before the first session. If you selected the option for a TI graphing calculator, it will be sent to the mailing address provided.
  • Time between sessions to try new strategies, see how they work, and return with questions for the next session.
  • Receive a certificate of attendance that may be accepted as professional development credit from your school or district.
