Workshop overview

This workshop is designed for Texas mathematics educators new to the TI-84 Series graphing calculator or experienced users interested in learning more, all with the focus of driving student success on Texas Mathematics EOC exams.

The workshop will cover the key elements of teaching with the TI-84 Series and helping students use it to better understand key topics on Texas EOC exams. By the end of the workshop, participants will be faimilar with:

Analyzing and solving a wide range of sample problems using graphs, tables and calculator tools.
Exploring premade activities that reinforce technology skills and deepen student understanding of key EOC exam topics.

8th Grade Mathematics EOC Exam

By the end of the workshop, participants will be familiar with leveraging the TI-84 Series graphing calculator for exam questions in key reporting categories, such as:

Evaluating Expressions and Solving Equations
Proportionality and Proportional Relationships
Transformational Geometry
Measurement and Data

Algebra 1 EOC Exam

By the end of the workshop, participants will be familiar with leveraging the TI-84 Series for exam questions in key reporting categories, such as:

Computations and Algebraic Relationships
Linear, Quadratic and Exponential Functions and Equations
Solving Systems of Linear Equations
Data Analysis

What to expect from your virtual workshop experience

Hands-on, interactive professional learning held in 3-hour time blocks.
You will receive the workshop training materials and online calculator license via email before the first session. If you selected the option for a TI graphing calculator, it will be sent to the mailing address provided.
Time between sessions to try new strategies, see how they work, and return with questions for the next session.
Receive a certificate of attendance that may be accepted as professional development credit from your school or district.
