Pricing

$250 — Summit registration includes your choice of one of the following:

  • TI-Nspire™ CX II CAS graphing calculator and TI-Nspire™ CX Premium Teacher Software.
  • TI-84 Plus CE Python graphing calculator and TI-SmartView™ CE emulator software for the TI-84 Plus graphing family.



What to expect from your T³™ Regional Summit:

  • Attend a total of four sessions featuring hands-on, interactive professional learning on the topics of your choice.
  • Receive TI technology and training materials given to you on site.
  • Receive a Certificate of Attendance which may be accepted for school or district professional development credit. Teachers Teaching with Technology™ (T³™) professional development from Texas Instruments is an approved provider of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) in Texas.
  • Continental breakfast and lunch are included.
  • We will follow local protocols and safety recommendations and request that all attendees do the same for the health of all in attendance.
  • In the event the summit is canceled, all registrants will be notified as soon as possible and registration fees will be refunded in full.

9:30 – 11:00 a.m. | First morning sessions


Session 1 | Exploring Algebra Topics With the TI-84 Plus CE

Utilizing the TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculator, we will explore topics such as:

  • Linear functions
  • Systems of linear equations
  • Functions and relations
  • Quadratic, exponential, radical and rational functions
  • Probability

Session 2 | Valuable Tips for Using TI-Nspire™ CX Technology

  • Get an overview of TI-Nspire™ CX II graphing calculator, including general calculator, graphing and statistical functionality.
  • Explore dynamic and interactive lessons for algebra I and algebra II, geometry, precalculus and calculus, and statistics.
  • Learn the basic features of the TI-Nspire™ CX Premium Teacher Software.

Session 3 | Integrating TI Technology for Emergent Bilinguals

  • "¿Cómo se usa esto?" Learn how activities and video resources can be integrated in an ELL/ESL classroom when using TI-84 Plus CE or TI-Nspire™ CX II graphing calculators.

Session 4 | Prepare Students for STAAR® Success Using TI-Nspire™ CX Graphing Technology

  • This session is designed to introduce middle grades and high school educators to dynamic, interactive lessons using Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) Mathematical Process Standards.
  • Model rich tasks through in-depth discussions, with an emphasis on task analysis, questioning strategies and essential TI-Nspire™ CX technology skills to enhance student learning.



11:15 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. | Second morning sessions


Session 5 | Prepare Students for STAAR® Success Using TI-84 Graphing Technology

  • This session is designed to introduce middle grades and high school educators to dynamic, interactive lessons using TEKS Mathematical Process Standards.
  • Model rich tasks through in-depth discussions, with an emphasis on task analysis, questioning strategies and essential TI-84 skills to enhance student learning.

Session 6 | Exploring Algebra Topics With TI-Nspire™ CX Technology

Utilizing the TI-Nspire™ CX II graphing calculator, we will explore topics such as:

Session 7 | Middle School Advanced Math: Using TI-Nspire™ CX Technology to Dive Deeper Into 7th and 8th Grade TEKS

  • Use technology to bring the TEKS together for 7th and 8th grade math.
  • Review technology skills including calculator basics, solving equations, graphing and data analysis.
  • Explore real-world applications that bring abstract math concepts to life, making learning relevant and exciting for middle school students.
  • Experience beginner-friendly strategies you can immediately apply in the classroom whether you are new to using TI technology or looking to enhance your current practices

Session 8 | Learning to Code With the BBC Micro:bit and TI-Nspire™ CX II Graphing Calculator

  • This session is designed for educators interested in introducing coding to their students using the BBC micro:bit
  • Expand on the lessons featured in TI’s 10 Minutes of Code to excite students in learning the code to control the micro:bit and its built-in sensors, including light and sound.
  • Engage your students with the latest technology, preparing them for the next stage to explore real-world STEM applications.

1:30 – 3 p.m. | First afternoon sessions


Session 9 | Topics in Calculus With the TI-84 Plus CE Graphing Calculator

  • Explore topics focused on teaching calculus with TI-84 technology, including:
    • Tangent line approximations.
    • The relationship between a function and its derivatives.
    • The relationship between integration and the area between a curve and x-axis.
  • Discuss strategies to prepare students for the AP® Calculus exam.

Session 10 | Topics in Geometry With the TI-Nspire™ CX II Graphing Calculator

  • Explore topics covering congruence, similarity and right triangles, and transformations using the TI-Nspire™ CX II handheld.

Session 11 | Algebra II and Precalculus With TI-Nspire™ CX Technology

This session focuses on exploring the following topics with the TI-Nspire™ CX II graphing calculator:

  • Modeling various functions: statistical regression, choosing the best model, and interpolating and extrapolating information.
  • Polynomial equations and functions: graphing and evaluating, finding relative extremes, and an exploration of zeroes.

Session 12 | Data Collection in Science and Math Classrooms With TI-Nspire™ CX Technology

  • Explore collecting data using TI-Nspire™ CX II graphing calculators along with Vernier EasyTemp® sensor and CBR™ 2 motion sensor.
  • Analyze data through the development of mathematical models.



3:15 – 4:45 p.m. | Second afternoon sessions


Session 13 | Middle School Advanced Math: Using TI-84 Graphing Calculators to Dive Deeper Into 7th and 8th Grade TEKS

  • Use technology to bring the TEKS together for 7th and 8th grade math.

Session 15 | Developing Deeper Conceptual Understanding to Prepare for the SAT® Exam With TI Technology

  • Students who only excel at procedural fluency (i.e. memorizing steps and formulas) will have a tough time on the math section of the redesigned SAT® exam. They need a deeper understanding of the concepts. Learn to leverage TI technology to help meet this goal by providing activities and ideas that promote conceptual understanding.
  • This session features both TI-84 Plus CE and TI-Nspire™ CX technologies.

Session 16 | STEM Activities to Engage Your Students With the TI-Innovator™ Hub and Rover

  • This session is designed for math and science teachers interested in introducing STEM projects in classrooms, featuring the TI-Innovator™ Hub and Rover with TI-Nspire™ CX technology.
  • Guide students on the path toward building their own STEM projects with activities that challenge them to address current real-world issues.
  • Use math, computer programming and engineering to design and build models to solve current problems.
