Pricing

$250 — Summit registration includes your choice of one of the following:

  • TI-Nspire™ CX II CAS graphing calculator and TI-Nspire™ CX Premium Teacher Software.
  • TI-84 Plus CE Python graphing calculator and TI-SmartView™ CE emulator software for the TI-84 Plus graphing family.



What to expect from your T³™ Regional Summit:

  • Attend a total of four sessions featuring hands-on, interactive professional learning on the topics of your choice.
  • Receive TI technology and training materials given to you on site.
  • Receive a Certificate of Attendance which may be accepted for school or district professional development credit. Teachers Teaching with Technology™ (T³™) professional development from Texas Instruments is an approved provider of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) in Texas.
  • Continental breakfast and lunch are included.
  • We will follow local protocols and safety recommendations and request that all attendees do the same for the health of all in attendance.
  • In the event the summit is canceled, all registrants will be notified as soon as possible and registration fees will be refunded in full.

9:30 – 11:00 a.m. | First morning sessions


Session 1 | Valuable Tips for the TI-84 Plus CE and TI-SmartView™ Emulator

  • Get an overview of the TI-84 Plus CE along with the basic computation, graphing and functionality.
  • Learn how to easily use the TI-84 Plus CE as an evaluator of complex expressions, trace on a graph and table simultaneously, quickly evaluate the quadratic formula, store window settings, and investigate transformation graphing with lists.
  • Get tips on how to utilize TI-SmartView™ software.

Session 2 | Valuable Tips for Using TI-Nspire™ CX II Technology

  • Get an overview of TI-Nspire™ CX II graphing calculator, including general calculator, graphing and statistical functionality.
  • Explore dynamic and interactive lessons for algebra 1 and algebra 2, geometry, precalculus and calculus and statistics.
  • Learn the basic features of the TI-Nspire™ CX Premium Teacher Software.

Session 3 | Exploring Topics in Precalculus With TI Technology: Polynomial and Rational Functions

  • Explore how TI technology can deepen understanding of rate of change, end behavior, asymptotes and function transformations.

Session 4 | Integrating TI Technology for Emergent Bilinguals

  • "¿Cómo se usa esto?" Learn how activities and video resources can be integrated in an ELL/ESL classroom when using the TI-84 Plus CE or TI-Nspire™ CX II graphing calculators.



11:15 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. | Second morning sessions


Session 5 | Next Steps With the TI-84 Plus CE

  • Discuss strategies for helping students to better understand key topics and emphasize techniques for teaching with TI-84 Plus CE technology. The session will include:
    • Classroom strategies for using the graphing calculator and its powerful features, including computations; graphing of functions, lists and tables; statistics and probability; and geometry to enhance student learning.
    • The most-used apps included with the TI-84 Plus CE as well as activities for using them in the classroom.
    • Using TI-Smartview™ CE emulator software as a teacher tool to enrich the student learning environment.
    • o Managing memory and file storage of the graphing calculator.

Session 6 | Next Steps With TI-Nspire™ Technology

  • Educators with intermediate-level knowledge of TI-Nspire™ technology will learn how to create activities to excite and engage students in high school mathematics. This session covers a variety of topics, including algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2, precalculus, calculus and statistics.
  • Learn how TI-Nspire™ technology facilitates reasoning, sense-making and understanding in an interactive mathematics classroom.

Session 7 | Exploring Topics in Precalculus With TI Technology: Exponential Functions, Logarithmic Functions and Regression

  • Learn how TI technology can be used to investigate the relationship between exponential and logarithmic functions, inverse and composite functions, and the concept of regression as a way to find a model for contextual data.

Session 8 | Leveraging TI Technology for Success on the ACCUPLACER®/TSIA2 Math Test

  • Discover what to expect on the mathematics sections of the ACCUPLACER®/TSIA2 test, including an in-depth review of key categories tested and how students can leverage TI technology on this test. In this session, you will:
    • Examine essential concepts from each content category on the TSIA2 test.
    • Explore how using TI-84 Plus CE or TI-Nspire™ CX II graphing calculators can enhance student success.
    • Engage with examples to gain practical strategies for effective classroom instruction.

1:30 – 3 p.m. | First afternoon sessions


Session 9 | Middle School Advanced Math: Using TI-84 Graphing Calculators to Dive Deeper Into 7th and 8th Grade TEKS

  • Use technology to bring the TEKS together for 7th and 8th grade math.
  • Review technology skills including calculator basics, solving equations, graphing and data analysis.
  • Explore real-world applications that bring abstract math concepts to life, making learning relevant and exciting for middle school students.
  • Experience beginner-friendly strategies you can immediately apply in the classroom, whether you are new to using TI technology or looking to enhance your current practices.

Session 10 | Middle School Advanced Math: Using TI-Nspire™ Technology to Dive Deeper Into 7th and 8th Grade TEKS

  • Use technology to bring the TEKS together for 7th and 8th grade math.
  • Review technology skills including calculator basics, solving equations, graphing and data analysis.
  • Explore real-world applications that bring abstract math concepts to life, making learning relevant and exciting for middle school students.
  • Experience beginner-friendly strategies you can immediately apply in the classroom, whether you are new to using TI technology or looking to enhance your current practices.

Session 11 | Exploring Topics in Statistics With TI Technology

  • This session as will explore how the topics below can help students move through a vertical curriculum from algebra 1 through AP® Statistics, including:
    • Analyzing and interpreting univariate data: Representing data with dot plots, box and whisker plots, histograms; comparing center and spread of data sets.
    • Interpreting bivariate data: Represent bivariate data on a scatter plot, describe the relationship, and interpret the slope and intercept of a linear model in the context of the data.
    • Fitting a linear function to a scatter plot and analyze the fit by plotting residuals.

Session 12 | Making Math and Science Meaningful With the TI-Innovator™ Rover

  • This session is designed for teachers interested in introducing the Rover to their students. Explore lessons that feature topics to get students engaged with this exciting technology, such as:
    • The relationship between distance, rate and time.
    • Designing and measuring a segmented path.
  • This session includes both TI-84 Plus CE and TI-Nspire™ CX series.



3:15 – 4:45 p.m. | Second afternoon sessions


Session 13 | Prepare Students for STAAR® Success Using TI-84 Graphing Technology

  • This session is designed to introduce middle grades and high school educators to dynamic, interactive lessons using TEKS Mathematical Process Standards.
  • You’ll model rich tasks through in-depth discussions, with an emphasis on task analysis, questioning strategies and essential TI-84 skills to enhance student learning.

Session 14 | Prepare Students for STAAR® Success Using TI-Nspire™ CX II Graphing Technology

  • This session is designed to introduce middle grades and high school educators to dynamic, interactive lessons using TEKS Mathematical Process Standards.
  • You’ll model rich tasks through in-depth discussions, with an emphasis on task analysis, questioning strategies and essential TI-Nspire™ technology skills to enhance student learning.

Session 15 | Exploring Topics in AP® Calculus With TI Technology

  • Explore topics focused on teaching calculus with TI-84 or TI-Nspire™ CX technology, including:
    • Tangent line approximations.
    • The relationship between a function and its derivatives.
    • o The relationship between integration and the area between a curve and x-axis.
  • Discuss strategies to prepare students for the AP® Calculus exam.

Session 16 | AI: Navigating New Educational Landscapes With TI Technology

  • Explore the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on education. In this session you will:
    • Develop an understanding of the potential and limitations of AI in education.
    • Explore of AI tools can be leveraged to enhance teaching and learning using TI resources.
