Sound of the Bouncing Ball

In this activity, students will develop a mathematical model that is based on the time interval of the sound the ball makes on impact between consecutive bounces. They will then use the model to predict how long the ball would (theoretically) bounce.

In this activity, students will explore how a pendulum moves by placing a pendulum bob directly across from a  CBR™ 2 motion sensor. Distance and time data are collected for several swings. The graph of the data can be modeled by a sinusoidal function.
