Purchase Order Guidelines
Important Information Concerning Purchasing Directly Through Texas Instruments Educational Technology Department
If the order total is less than $1,000 USD, you may use a credit card to complete the purchase by calling 1-800-TI-CARES (1-800-842-2737) M-Th 8:00am - 5:00pm or Fri 10:00am - 5:00pm Central Time. TI also accepts payment by check or money order.
Texas Instruments accepts Purchase Orders for orders between $100 and $3,500 USD.
If you plan to use a Purchase Order as your instrument of payment, the Purchase Order must meet the following criteria:
- It must be a valid Purchase Order containing a PO number. Requisition requests and requests that are handwritten or on letterhead cannot be accepted.
- The PO must contain an authorized signature of approval.
- The PO must contain the payment term “Net 30” (must appear on PO).
- A tax-exempt certificate must be provided (if applicable).
- Pricing information must reflect that of Texas Instruments.
- Shipping and handling may be listed on the PO, but it is not necessary. However, freight charges will be applied accordingly.
- Accounts Payable contact person’s name, email address, and phone number MUST be included on Purchase Order. Note: This must be a specific person’s name and contact information.
