Think green for the 2023 TI Codes Contest

Teams must imagine and design a solution that supports a happy planet.
The goal is to use coding and TI technology to build a model of your idea.

Assemble your team and compete to win

Teams may include up to five students (ages 13–19) with one adult sponsor. A sponsor can be a teacher, parent or other adult. View full contest rules »

Grand prize winners
Each member of the winning team will receive a new TI-Innovator™ Hub, TI-Innovator™ Rover, their choice of a TI graphing calculator and a TI T-shirt. The winning team’s adult sponsor will also receive a $250 gift card.

Second and third place
Each member of the second and third place teams will receive their choice of a new TI graphing calculator and a TI T-shirt.

Round 1: Design the solution

This year's contest begins with the full project plan and design. Download the contest packet to review the submission template and more detailed instructions for entering. Once your team's packet is complete, return to this webpage before the deadline and upload it (along with your team's information) using the submission button below.

Teams may submit multiple design packets, but will only advance for one project selected by judges. Please email codescontest@ti.com with any questions.

Deadline for submissions is Feb. 15 at 11:59 p.m. Central time.

Round 2: Build the solution

Up to 10 eligible teams will advance to Round 2. These teams will each receive a TI technology package with supplies to build their project.

The TI technology package will include:

  • The choice of one (1) TI-84 Plus CE Python or TI-Nspire™ CX II graphing calculator.
  • One (1) TI-Innovator™ Hub and one (1) BBC micro:bit.
  • One (1) set of TI-Innovator™ accessories including breadboard, ranger, I/O module and external battery.
  • One (1) $50 gift card to purchase additional supplies.

Round 3: Voting

Judges will select up to five team videos to be voted on by the public.

The team video with the most votes will win the grand prize!
