Why do I recieve an ERR:DOMAIN when I try to find the inverse of a matrix on the TI-83 family and TI-84 Plus family graphing calculators?
When finding the inverse of a matrix, the [x-1] key must be used instead of pressing the sequence [^][-][1]. The [x-1] key is the official inverse key. The [^][-][1] sequence is only raising the matrix to the -1 power and will cause an ERR:DOMAIN. Please refer to the examples listed below:
