If the message "USB communication error: No certificate exists for the object being downloaded (8C08002C)" is received when trying to update the TI-84 Plus family operating system, double-check to make sure the correct operating system file was downloaded.
For example, if the TI-83 Plus family operating system was downloaded and attempted to be transfered to a TI-84 Plus family calculator, this error message will be displayed. It is also important to note that the connected calculator's RAM memory will be erased in the failed process.
