Activity Overview

In this activity, students explore the effects of additive and multiplicative transformations on the sine function using the TI-84 Evo's Transformation Graphing App. By dynamically adjusting the constants A, B, C, and D in f(x) = A sin(B(x + C)) + D, students investigate how each parameter affects amplitude, period, phase shift, and midline, before applying their understanding through a summary and practice exercises.

About the Lesson

This lesson uses the Transformation Graphing App on the TI-84 Evo to help students build an intuitive understanding of sinusoidal function transformations.
