Students also explore probability and patterns in place value by using two spinners and analyze and record the results.

During the Activity

Distribute the page to the class.

Follow the activity procedures:

Make a simple spinning device

Each student in the class spins the Spinner A (marked with 1, 2, and 3) once and records the results

Each students repeats the activity using Spinner B (marked with 10, 20, and 30) and records the results

Play a game where students guess the sums of the spins

Collect data of spins and record it on the sheet

Use the calculator for finding sums

Explore probability and patterns that emerge and analyze the results

After the Activity

Students record data on the Recording Sheet.

Review student results

As a class, discuss questions that appeared to be more challenging

Re-teach concepts as necessary
