This activity is designed to allow students to create an interactive document that allows them to alter the specifications of a dilation and visually and numerically see its effects.

This activity could be used as an introduction to dilations or as a reinforcement of previously learned material.
If students are not familiar using the TI-Nspire technology, the handout would be helpful to create the triangle and to dilate it.

While this activity is intended to be completed individually by students using handhelds, a teacher could also do it as a class activity using TI-Nspire software and project it to the front of the room or perform it along with the students in this manner.

At the conclusion of the activity, the teacher would decide on an activity to reinforce the learning or to check for understanding.
