Activity Overview
Students split rational functions into sums of partial fractions.
About the Lesson
First, they will learn to use the circle-trace feature on a graph enabling them to see one graph being graphed on top of another. Next, a procedure for finding a sum of partial fractions to represent a rational function is developed. They will verify algebraically what they concluded from the graphs.
