Workshop overview

This workshop is designed for educators interested in introducing students to Python coding using the TI-84 Plus Python graphing calculator. It introduces the basics of Python coding principles, including logic, selection statements and loops, and focuses on coding topics which reinforce student understanding of math curriculum concepts.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be familiar with:

  • Starting a new program, writing a program to display text, and running the program.
  • Understanding the differences between global and local variables and using them in a program.
  • Writing programs that control input and output commands on the Hub using the TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculator Program Editor.
  • Writing input statements using IF and conditions.
  • Using loop structures.

$350 — Workshop registration includes the following TI technology package:

  • TI-84 Plus CE Python graphing calculator, TI-SmartView™ CE emulator software for the TI-84 Plus graphing family, TI-Innovator™ Hub and TI-Innovator™ Rover
