Workshop overview

This workshop focuses on connecting the use of TI-Innovator™ Rover in the mathematics classroom with middle and high school curricula. Building upon the lessons taken from TI’s Math in Motion and 10 Minutes of Code activities, participant will learn how to operate the Rover using either TI-84 Plus CE or TI-Nspire™ CX graphing calculators. Ready-to-use activities for enhancing student understanding of key mathematical concepts will also be explored.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be familiar with:

  • Operating Rover using prewritten programs, adapting them, and writing their own.
  • Connecting the code used with Rover to its motion.
  • Using the motion of Rover to explore topics in the mathematics curriculum.
  • Applying the mathematics process standards to Rover activities.

Pricing and technology options

$250 — Workshop registration includes the following TI technology package:

  • TI-84 Plus CE Python graphing calculator, TI-SmartView™ CE emulator software for the TI-84 Plus graphing family, TI-Innovator™ Hub™, TI-Innovator™ Rover
  • TI-Nspire™ CX II CAS graphing calculator, TI-Nspire™ CX Premium Teacher Software, TI-Innovator™ Hub, TI-Innovator™ Rover

Note: Should the workshop need to be canceled, registration fees will be refunded in full.

What to expect from your in-person workshop

  • Twelve hours of hands-on, interactive professional learning held in a small group setting over two, six-hour sessions.
  • Receive your TI technology and training materials at the workshop site.
  • Receive a certificate of attendance that may be accepted as professional development credit from your school or district.
  • We will follow local protocols and safety recommendations and request that all attendees do the same for the health of all in attendance.
  • If circumstances change, we may need to cancel the workshop or convert this offering to a virtual workshop to comply with local guidelines, and we will notify all registrants as soon as possible .
