# Getting Started with TI-Nspire™ Technology in Connecting Science and Mathematics

Designed for educators who are just beginning to use TI-Nspire™ technology, this workshop focuses on integrating key science and mathematics concepts with the TI-Nspire™ handheld and TI-Nspire™ Teacher software.

Explore simulations and data-collection activities from Science Nspired and discuss integrating them into your classroom. By the end of the workshop, you’ll be comfortable using pre-made TI-Nspire™ documents, possess basic skills with various probes and experiments, and understand the basics of TI-Nspire™ technology.

## Overview

This workshop is available in one-, two- and three-day options to accommodate educator-specific needs. The two- and three-day workshops offer a more extensive exploration of topics.

Overview of the TI-Nspire™ handheld, including data collection with the Vernier EasyTemp® USB temperature sensor and Calculator-Based Ranger 2™ (CBR 2™) motion sensor. Data analysis through the development of mathematical models. Exploration of interactive simulations. Additional coverage of simulations and data-collection labs with the TI-Nspire™ handheld. Mathematical modeling involving linear, exponential, power and logarithmic functions. Introduction to the capabilities of the TI-Nspire™ CX Navigator™ System. Deeper coverage of the TI-Nspire™ handheld, Teacher Software and online resources. Emphasis on classroom applications across high school science and mathematics curricula. Opportunities for differentiation based on educators’ subject areas and needs.

## Areas of Focus

This workshop focuses on effective use of the TI-Nspire™ handheld and Teacher Software across high school science and mathematics curricula. Educators will learn how to collect and analyze data, develop appropriate mathematical models, and use interactive simulations to explore key concepts with students.
