Texas EOC Exam Strategies With TI-Nspire™ Technology

Workshop Overview

This workshop is designed for eighth grade and algebra I educators in Texas who are either beginning to use TI-Nspire™ technology or who want to learn more to drive student success on the Texas Algebra 1 EOC exam. Educators will cover the key elements of teaching with the TI-Nspire™ CX graphing calculator and TI-Nspire™ CX Teacher Software, and the workshop will focus on helping students use the TI-Nspire™ CX graphing calculator to better understand key topics on the Texas Grade 8 and Algebra I EOC exam.

By the end of the workshop, participants should feel comfortable with the following topics as appropriate to their respective grade level/course:

  • Leveraging the TI-Nspire™ CX graphing calculator for exam questions in key reporting categories, such as Computations and Algebraic Relationships, Geometry and Measurement, and Data Analysis, as well as Number and Algebraic Methods, Describing and Graphing Linear Functions, and Writing and Solving Linear Equations and Inequalities
  • Analyzing and solving a wide range of sample problems using graphs, tables and calculator tools
  • Exploring premade activities that reinforce technology skills and deepen student understanding of key EOC exam topics
