Solution 32291: Rounding Numbers on the TI-Nspire™ Family.

How do I round numbers on the TI-Nspire family?

The TI-Nspire family line of products have several options for rounding numbers that include the commands Round, Floor, and Ceiling.

Round - The round command rounds the inputed number based upon the number of significant digits. As example to round 1.23456789 to the third decimal point::

• Press [home] [B].
• Press [menu] [2] [8] [1].
• Press [1] [.] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9].
• Press [,] [enter].

Floor - The floor command rounds the inputed number to the closest integer smaller than itself. As example use the value of 1.895:

• Press [menu] [2] [8] [6].
• Press [1.] [8] [9] [5] [enter].

Ceiling - The ceiling command rounds the inputed number to the closest integer larger than itself. As an example use the value of 2.33333:

• Press [menu] [2] [8] [7].
• Press [2] [.] [3] [3] [3] [3] [3] [enter].
