Solution 22750: Unable to Switch Keypads While Using Press-to-Test Mode on a TI-Nspire™ Family Handheld.

Why can't the keypads be switched while in Press-to-Test Mode on a TI-Nspire family handheld?

When in "Press To Test" mode TI-Nspire handhelds can detect an improperly inserted keypad. The handheld will load the operating system then display the following error:

"This key pad is not compatible with the current Press-to-Test mode. Please revert to the key pad used when entering Press-to-Test mode."

No further actions on the handheld will be permitted. The only solution to this problem is to install the keypad used to invoke Press-to-Test.

This is a feature of Press-to-Test. When Press-to-Test is active, it does not allow students to switch to another keypad that may give them functionality that is not permitted on the test. The only way to switch keypads is to disable Press-to-Test, switch keypads, then enable Press-to-Test with the new keypad installed.

Please see the TI-Nspire family guidebooks for additional information.
