Solution 37678: TI-Innovator™ Hub SET AVERAGING command does not work in previously connected objects.

Why does the SET AVERAGING command not work in previously connected objects?

The “SET AVERAGING” command should precede any connections. The "global" value is used when we CONNECT only. After connection, the value associated with the connect sensor does NOT reflect changes to the global value that may occur. The AVERAGE command affects CONNECTED sensors. SET AVERAGING sets a global used to set the initial value when we CONNECT.

You should use the “SET AVERAGING” global command before any connection that is expected to use this value.
