Solution 34814: Correcting a Data Type Error when Attaching a Distribution Formula to a List on the TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus Family of Graphing Calculators.

I have input data (numbers) into my L1 list. Why am I getting a Data Type error message when I attach the following formula to L2?

Input data (numbers) into the L1 list. L2=normalcdf( -1E99, 200, L1*.9, L1*.9*.1)

Some of the distribution functions, such as Normalpdf and Normalcdf, are not designed to accept lists as valid parameters. These two functions are designed to only accept floating numbers or integers.

The same issue can easily be recreated on the home screen by typing normalcdf(-1E99, 200, L1*.9, L1*.9*.1) and pressing [ENTER].

Please see the TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus Family guidebooks for additional information.
