Solution 13560: Explaining the ERR:STAT Message on a TI-83 Family, TI-84 Plus Family, or TI-Nspire™ Handheld in TI-84 Plus Mode.

What causes an ERR:STAT message to be displayed when performing statistical calculations on a TI-83 family, TI-84 Plus family, or TI-Nspire Handheld in TI-84 Plus mode?

An ERR:STAT message is displayed when attempting a stat calculation or operation with lists that are not appropriate. Make sure you follow the rules stated below to avoid an ERR:STAT:

1) Statistical analyses must have at least two data points.
2) Med-Med must have at last three points for each partition.
3) When using a frequency list, its elements must be greater than or equal to 0.
4) (Xmax - Xmin) / Xscl must be less than or equal to 47 for a histogram.
