How do I resolve error S28 that occurs during activation of a TI-Nspire or TI-SmartView Software?
Please be advised this license type will be discontinued on November 7, 2023, and your current software will no longer be updated. Converting to a new, account-based license before that date is recommended. In most cases you can receive an equivalent subscription length free of charge by contacting TI-Cares.
For now, you may still activate and use your current software for the full license term, but you will not be able to reactivate or download this software again after November 7. If a new activation or download is needed after that date, you must contact TI-Cares to acquire a new account-based subscription.
Error code S28 indicates that the license number has no activation remaining. If you need to activate additional computers, please purchase additional licenses from an instructional product dealer.
If you need to move a license from one machine to another, please contact TI for assistance.
Before you contact TI, please have your 31-character license number (Single Licenses) or 20-character claim number (Volume, Concurrent, or School-Managed Licenses) accessible. This license number can be found on:
- Your software's CD Sleeve
- Your software's confirmation e-mail
- The "About" dialog in TI-Nspire Family software version 3.0 and above.
