Solution 12306: Calculating One-Variable Statistics Using the TI-36X Solar.

How do I calculate one-variable statistics using the TI-36X Solar?

The following example will demonstrate how to calculate one-variable statistics using the TI-36X Solar.

Example:

Find the sum, mean, population standard deviation, and sample standard deviation for the data set:
45, 55, 55, 55, 60, 80

Input the values:
1) Press [3rd] and [STAT 1].
2) Press [2nd] and [CSR].
3) Press 45, [S+]
4) Press 55, [2nd], [FRQ], 3, [S+].
5) Press 60, [S+].
6) Press 80, [S+].

Now, calculate the variables:

To display the sum:
1) Press [2nd], [Sx].
The answer is 350.

To display the mean:
1) Press [2nd], [ x ].
The answer is 58.33333333.

To display the population standard deviation
1) Press [2nd], [sxn].
The answer is 10.67187373.

To display the sample standard deviation:
1) Press [2nd], [sxn-1].
The answer is 11.69045194.
