Solution 11758: Functionality of the Function Keys [F1 - F5] on the TI-83 Family, TI-89 Family, TI-92 Family and Voyage™ 200.

What purpose do the function keys [F1 - F5] serve on my graphing calculator and how are they used? 

The function keys [F1 - F5] are used to access certain menus and commands. Some calculator software applications (apps) will display "softkeys" on the screen that will correspond to these function keys. Also, keep in mind that on some graphing calculator models, the [ALPHA] key must be pressed prior to accessing these function softkeys.

On the TI-89 family, TI-92 family, and Voyage 200, the HOME screen also has several "tabs" at the top of the screen that pertain to the function keys. When pressed, the menu corresponding to that particular tab is displayed, providing quick access to various commands and functions.
