Activity Overview
This activity uses screen capture to introduce solving linear equations by graphing. Using screen captures save the teacher from having to go from one student to another to make sure the students' are typing the correct information into the calculator.
Before the Activity
Have all students log into the TI-Navigator™ system.
During the Activity
As a class solve examples 1 - 3, discuss typing equation into the y= screen, setting the window, tracing and finding the zero using the calc menu. Verify all students are with you using the screen capture. Discuss how to verify the solution algebraically.
After the Activity
Now have the students complete the problems on the worksheet part II.
