Law of Sines: The Ambiguous Case

Activity Overview

A simple model is used to illustrate the various possibilities of the ambiguous case of the Law of Sines. Students manipulate the model to create each of the possible cases and then make conjectures about the relationship between the various given measurements and the number of possible triangles. A student work sheet is provided.
