Activity Overview
This activity allows students to investigate the relationship between the angle formed by two tangents to a circle and the arcs they intercept.
Before the Activity
Review tangents to circles. Decide how much construction you want the students to do and how much you want to them as a start.
Download the files and alter as necessary.
During the Activity
Lead the students through the construction and measuring if desired. For a shorter activity, send students the student.tns file with finished construction to make observations.
After the Activity
Do several examples solving for the angle between the tangents.
