The Flag Problem

Activity Overview

Students explore the area of a triangle with the base being one of the legs of a right angled trapezoid, and an opposite vertex being a point on the other leg of the trapezoid.

Before the Activity

Before carrying out this activity, teachers should review with the students the following concepts: trapezoid, base, legs, and area of triangle.
