Entropy

Activity Overview

In this activity, students will investigate entropy from the point of view of microstates, macrostates, and probability. The goal of the activity is to help students better understand the relationship between probability and entropy. Students will learn that, in the case of the second law of thermodynamics, it is not about what is possible, but rather what is most probable.
