Teaching and Learning With TI-Nspire™ CX Technology in Middle Grades Mathematics

Designed for educators who using TI-Nspire™ CX technology, this workshop introduces the TI-Nspire™ CX graphing calculator and TI-Nspire™ CX Premium Teacher Software in the context of middle grades mathematics.

Learn a wide range of TI-Nspire™ CX technology skills, and explore how to effectively integrate Math Nspired activities into your middle grades mathematics classroom. By the end of the workshop, you’ll be comfortable using premade TI-Nspire™ Documents and have basic skills in graphing, geometry and other applications of TI-Nspire™ CX technology.

Overview

This in-person workshop is available in one-, two- and three-day options to accommodate educator specific needs. A half-day workshop option is also available. A more extensive exploration of topics is gained with the 2-day and 3-day workshops. A virtual workshop is also available in multiple two- or three-hour sessions.

	Exploration of dynamic, interactive lessons involving fractions, decimals and percent; categorical data; and points in the coordinate plane. Overview of the TI-Nspire™ CX handheld, including general calculator, graphing, and statistical functionality. Introduction to basic features of teacher software.
	Coverage of patterns and functions, systems of linear equations and modeling with multiple representations. Opportunities for differentiation based on educators’ subject areas and needs. Exploration of online resources and formative assessment documents with teacher software.
	Wider curriculum coverage, with an additional focus on geometry. Introduction to data collection and analysis with the CBR™ 2 motion sensor. Additional opportunities for differentiation based on educators’ subject areas and needs.
