Teaching and Learning With TI-Nspire™ CX CAS Technology in High School Mathematics

Designed for educators using TI-Nspire™ CX CAS technology, this workshop introduces the TI-Nspire™ CX CAS graphing calculator and TI-Nspire™ CX Premium Teacher Software in the context of a high school mathematics curriculum, including activities specific to computer algebra systems (CAS).

Learn a wide range of TI-Nspire™ CX CAS technology skills and explore how to effectively integrate Math Nspired activities and CAS functionality into your high school mathematics classroom. By the end of the workshop, you’ll be comfortable using premade TI-Nspire™ Documents and have basic skills in CAS, graphing, geometry and other applications of TI-Nspire™ CX technology.

Overview

This in-person workshop is available in one-, two- and three-day options to accommodate educator-specific needs. A half-day workshop option is also available. The two- and three-day workshops offer a more extensive exploration of topics. A virtual workshop is also available in multiple two- or three-hour sessions.

	Overview of the TI-Nspire™ CX CAS handheld, including calculator, graphing, statistical and CAS functionality. Exploration of dynamic, interactive lessons focused on families of functions and mathematical modeling with multiple representations. Introduction to basic features of teacher software, including creating formative assessment documents.
	Additional coverage of the handheld, including CAS features for the algebra classroom and modeling with multiple representations. Expanded coverage of teacher software and online resources. Opportunities for differentiation based on educators’ subject areas and needs.
	Deeper coverage of the handheld and teacher software, emphasizing broad subject coverage and additional CAS features. Introduction to data collection and analysis with the CBR™ 2 motion sensor. Additional opportunities for differentiation based on educators’ subject areas and needs.
