Middle grades mathematics with TI-Nspire™ technology and the TI-Nspire™ Navigator™ system

Designed for educators who are just beginning to use TI-Nspire™ technology, this workshop introduces the TI-Nspire™ CX handheld and TI-Nspire™ CX Navigator™ system in the context of middle grades mathematics.

Educators will learn a wide range of TI-Nspire™ technology skills and explore strategies to effectively integrate the TI-Nspire™ CX Navigator™ system into their middle grades mathematics classrooms.

Overview

This workshop is available in one- to six-day configurations to accommodate educator-specific needs. A half-day workshop option is also available.

  • Introduction to the TI-Nspire™ CX handheld, including general calculator, graphing and statistical functionality.
  • Overview of basic features of TI-Nspire™ CX Navigator™ Teacher Software.
  • Introduction to the TI-Nspire™ CX Navigator™ system.
workshop-2-day
  • Exploration of dynamic, interactive TI-Nspire™ lessons focused on key areas of the middle grades mathematics curriculum, such as ratios and proportional relationships, expressions and equations, and statistics and probability.
  • Opportunities to practice using basic TI-Nspire™ CX Navigator™ system features such as Live Presenter, Quick Poll and Class Capture.
  • Introduction to formative assessment strategies, including creating TI-Nspire™ assessment documents.

  • Broader content coverage across the middle grades mathematics curriculum.
  • Extended opportunities to practice additional TI-Nspire™ CX Navigator™ system skills, including organizing students' work in the Portfolio Workspace.
  • Exploration of online content and professional development resources to further support the successful implementation of the TI-Nspire™ CX Navigator™ system.
