Exploring TEKS Topics in High School Mathematics with the TI-84 Plus Family

Designed for high school Algebra 1, geometry and Algebra 2 educators who need support transitioning to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), this workshop focuses on key content standards, along with essential technology skills for the TI-84 Plus family of graphing calculators.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll be comfortable using the TI-84 Plus graphing calculator and TI-SmartView™ emulator software to deepen student understanding of important TEKS topics in Algebra 1, geometry and Algebra 2.

This in-person workshop is available in one-, two- and three-day options to accommodate educator-specific needs. The two- and three-day workshops offer a more extensive exploration of topics. A virtual workshop is also available in multiple two- or three-hour sessions.

  • Coverage of key knowledge and skills in Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2.
  • Introduction to TEKS Mathematical Process Standards.
  • Overview of essential technology skills through exploration of TEKS-aligned content.
  • Broader curriculum coverage, with added emphasis on linear, quadratic and exponential functions.
  • Opportunities for differentiation based on teacher needs.
  • Introduction to TI-SmartView™ emulator software.
  • Extensive coverage of knowledge and skills across Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2.
  • Deeper discussions of how technology can support TEKS Mathematical Process Standards.
  • Additional opportunities for differentiation based on teacher needs.
