# Exploring Algebra with TI-Nspire™ Technology – Special Needs Focus

Designed for algebra educators of students with special needs, this workshop offers modified materials to provide additional support and strategies for working with such populations.

Learn to identify various entry points to problem-solving situations and discuss multiple representations in the context of enhancing students’ descriptive and analytic-modeling proficiency. The workshop introduces essential TI-Nspire™ technology skills, including tools for visualizing and solving equations, graphing and comparing functions, and analyzing data.

## Overview

This in-person workshop is available in one-, two- and three-day options to accommodate educator-specific needs. The two- and three-day workshops offer a more extensive exploration of topics. A virtual workshop is also available in multiple two- or three-hour sessions.

Overview of the TI-Nspire™ handheld, including general calculator and graphing functionality. Exploration of dynamic, interactive lessons with multiple entry points for students. Introduction to TI-Nspire™ Teacher Software. Additional TI-Nspire™ CX handheld coverage, including visualization of multiple representation modeling tools and features. Expanded coverage of Teacher Software and online learning resources. Opportunities for differentiation based on educators’ needs. Deeper coverage of the TI-Nspire™ handheld and Teacher Software. Emphasis on classroom applications supporting a wide range of learning styles. Opportunities to explore additional content resources.

## Areas of Focus

This workshop addresses key algebra concepts through dynamic, interactive lessons with the TI-Nspire™ handheld and Teacher Software, with a special emphasis on visualization tools involving expressions, equations, functions and inequalities.
