Leveraging the TI-Nspire™ CX II Graphing Calculator for ACT^® Test Success

Workshop overview

This workshop is designed for mathematics educators who want to learn to leverage TI-Nspire™ CX II graphing calculator skills to drive student success on the ACT^® test by exploring released test items.

Educators will cover the main elements of the ACT^® test, discuss strategies for helping students to better understand key topics, and emphasize techniques for teaching with TI-Nspire™ CX technology.

By the end of the workshop, participants should feel comfortable with:

• Leveraging graphing calculators for exam questions in key categories such as number and quantity, algebra, functions, geometry, and statistics and probability.
• Highlighting the key content areas on the ACT^® test and adjusting mathematics instruction accordingly.

What to expect from your in-person workshop

• Twelve hours of hands-on, interactive professional learning held in a small group setting over two, six-hour sessions.
• Receive your TI technology and training materials at the workshop site.
• Receive a certificate of attendance that may be accepted as professional development credit from your school or district.
• We will follow local protocols and safety recommendations and request that all attendees do the same for the health of all in attendance.
• If circumstances change, we may need to cancel the workshop or convert this offering to a virtual workshop to comply with local guidelines, and we will notify all registrants as soon as possible .
