See how to use the TI-84 Plus CE as an evaluator of complex expressions easily, trace on a graph and table simultaneously, quickly evaluate the quadratic formula, store window settings, quickly investigate transformation graphing with lists, and more. Plus, get tips on how to fully utilize the TI-SmartView™ graphing calculator emulator.
  • Overview of the TI-84 Plus CE (color) graphing calculator, basic computation, graphing and functionality.
  • Discover how this member of the TI-84 Plus graphing family is different than previous TI-84 family graphing calculators.
  • Effective use of the TI-SmartView™ CE emulator software.

Session 2 | Valuable Tips for Using TI-Nspire™ CX Technology (Calculator and Software)

  • Overview of the TI-Nspire™ CX graphing calculator, including general calculator, graphing and statistical functionality.
  • Exploration of dynamic, interactive lessons for algebra I, geometry, algebra II, precalculus, calculus and statistics.
  • Introduction to basic features of the teacher software.

Session 3 | Developing Deeper Conceptual Understanding to Prepare for the SAT® Exam (Calculator and Software)

  • Students who only excel at procedural fluency (memorizing steps and formulas) will have a tough time on the math section of the redesigned SAT® exam. They need a deeper understanding of the concepts. We can leverage TI technology to help meet this goal by providing activities and ideas that promote conceptual understanding.
  • This session includes both TI-84 Plus CE and TI-Nspire™ CX technologies.

Session 4 | Learning To Code With Python and TI Graphing Technology

  • This session is designed for educators interested in introducing coding to their students using the TI-84 Plus CE Python or TI-Nspire™ CX II graphing calculators.
  • Building upon the lessons from the 10 Minutes of Code, the session introduces the basics of coding principles, including logic, selection statements, loops, etc.
  • The principles of coding will be connected to many concepts in the math and science curriculum to increase student understanding.
  • By the end, you should be comfortable with using Python and the transferrable skills to move to the next stage in coding.

11:15 a.m. – 12:35 p.m. | Second morning sessions

Session 5 | Exploring Algebra Topics With TI-84 Plus CE Technology

Utilizing the TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculator, we will explore topics such as:
