CCSS Progressions: Building Concepts in Ratios and Proportional Reasoning with TI-Nspire™ Technology

Technology: TI-Nspire™ Technology
Topic: Building Concepts,CCSS
Speakers: Gail Burrill, Tom Dick

Building Concepts in Mathematics is a series of lessons that covers essential, foundational mathematical concepts and follows a progression of the concepts through the grade-level standards outlined by the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).

In this webinar, you will be introduced to a sequential, coordinated series of interactive TI-Nspire™ lessons that support a developmental trajectory of ratios, proportions, and proportional reasoning. Understanding of ratios and proportions provides an important conceptual bridge to students’ further study in mathematics, including linear relationships and functions in algebra and scaling and similarity in geometry. See how the dynamic features of TI-Nspire™ technology can engage students in active learning and provide tools to apply and extend proportional reasoning to other areas of mathematics. (2014)
