Mathematics appears everywhere, including within the designs of the flags of countries, states and cities.
When we view these flags through a mathematical lens we can see patterns, shapes, symmetry, angles, transformations, lines, curves and functions.
In this webinar, we will learn how flags can engage students in mathematical curiosity, discourse and the effective use of various forms of technology. Connecting mathematics to the design of flags has an additional and intentional benefit: Students learn more about the world and they become global citizens.
