Modeling the Four-Chamber Heart

Students will design a model of a four-chambered heart

Students explore the circulatory subsystem within the heart by building a model of the human four-chambered heart. In addition to the biology concepts, students have an opportunity to build electrical circuits and use coding to write a simple program that blinks four LEDs in the order of the filling of each chamber.

Unit 2: Dig it

The Mars Mineral Challenge (Sensing) focuses on programming Rover to sense changes as it covers its track. Students write and run code that uses Rover’s built-in color and distance sensors to control outputs such as LED lights and motors.

Unit 1: Blood Circulation (The Plumber)

Designed for middle school and high school life science.

Rover, Watch Out for Rover!

This project challenges students to experiment with distance, time and speed in an effort to make the TI-Innovator™ Rover robotic vehicle stop just short of a plastic dog (the other “Rover”) placed at a random distance by the teacher.
