Solution 34071: Correcting Idle Message "Waiting for Response" When Using the TI-Nspire™ Family Navigator™ Teacher Software.

How do I correct the idle message "Waiting for Response" when using the TI-Nspire Navigator teacher and TI-Nspire CAS Navigator teacher software?

The message "Waiting for Response" can appear when launching or while in use of the TI-Nspire Navigator Teacher and TI-Nspire CAS Navigator Teacher Software.


This is caused by the software in its attempt to access a different Drive (such as the Floppy Disk Drive) on a computer. This will cause the software to "hang" until the message disappears. This idle time may take up to 3 minutes. To prevent this message from appearing, follow the steps below:

1) Launch either the TI-Nspire or TI-Nspire CAS Navigator teacher software.
2) Go to the "Content" Tab.
3) Right-Click on the Drive that the software is trying to access and select "Remove Shortcut".

4) Close the software.
5) Re-launch the software.

If the above steps do not fix the issue try the additional steps below:

1) Verify if any shortcuts on your desktop are linked to network shares.
2) Remove these shortcuts from your desktop.
3) Close the software.
4) Re-launch the software.
