Solution 28590: Resolving Issues Logging into a TI-Nspire Navigator Family for Network Computers Class Session.

How do I resolve issues when attempting to log into a TI-Nspire Navigator Family for Network Computers Class Session?

To resolve the error message above "Login Failed" this error occurs when either the Username or Password is entered in incorrectly follow the steps listed below: 
• Verify the students Username have the teacher [Right-Click] the student icon within the TI-Nspire Navigator Family for Network Computers Software and choose [Properties].
• Within properties verify what is listed next to username is what the student is entering in.
• If the username is correct try resetting the password from this screen to correct the issue by selecting the student then clicking the [Reset Student Password] button.

To resolve the error message listed above "No network connection detected" try the below troubleshooting steps:
• Verify network access, check network cable make sure it is firmly inserted in network port.
• Verify that no firewall or antivirus software is interferining with the TI-Nspire Family software from communicating with the network
• Try closing and reopening the TI-Nspire Student Family software.

To resolve the issues above with no classes listed in the class drop down box try the steps listed below:

Please Note: If all students in the classroom are experiencing this issue it may be caused by Multicast being disabled on your network. To resolve this issue please contact your Network Administrator or your Router manufacturer for assistance.

• First try closing the login window and reopening it
• Try closing and reopening the TI-Nspire Student Family software.

• Last click on the [?] button to open the window above and manually enter in the IP Address and port to connect manually to the teachers computer.

Please Note: If you do not know the IP Address of the Teachers Computer follow the steps below to display the IP Address within the TI-Nspire Navigator Teacher Software for Network Computers:

• Launch the TI-Nspire Navigator Teacher Software for Network Computers.
• Switch to the Classroom Window by clicking [Window] [Class Workspace]
• Next click [File] [Preferences] [Teacher Preferences] to display your IP Addresses.
