How do I Calculate the Eigenvalue and Eigenvector of a Matrix on the TI-Nspire CAS Family?

To calculate the eigenvalue and eigenvector of a matrix on the TI-Nspire CAS family refer to the instructions below:

Matrix for both of these examples is:

a = [ 4  5  7

4  1  8

1  6  5]

To create the matrix, insert a Calculator page and follow the steps listed below:

1) Press [menu] [7] [1] [1].

2) Press [del] [3] [tab] [del] [3] [enter].
3) Press [4] [tab] [5] [tab] [7] [tab].
4) Press [4] [tab] [1] [tab] [8] [tab].
5) Press [1] [tab] [6] [tab] [5] [tab].
6) Press [ctrl] [sto→] [A] [enter] to store the matrix to the "A" variable.

7) Press [menu] [7] [B] [4].

8) Press [A] [ENTER].

To find the Eigenvector:

1) Press [menu] [7] [B] [5].

2) Press [A] [enter].
